Are you an experienced asset management or investment professional who enjoys turning data, insight and strategy into programmes that deliver real results?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking housing organisation as a Programme Design Manager, helping shape how significant investment is prioritised and delivered across a large housing stock.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring homes remain safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for the future, while making sure investment decisions deliver genuine value for money and better outcomes for residents.

The role

As Programme Design Manager, you’ll combine asset management expertise, strategic thinking, data analysis and programme leadership to translate long-term investment priorities into practical programmes of work.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, residents and key stakeholders, you’ll help shape investment decisions and drive continuous improvement across planned maintenance and asset investment.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Developing and designing planned maintenance and capital investment programmes
• Translating asset strategies into deliverable programmes of work
• Using asset data, stock condition information and business insight to prioritise investment
• Leading programme governance, monitoring and performance reporting
• Working with contractors and stakeholders to develop programme specifications and delivery plans
• Supporting commercial planning and procurement activity
• Leading resident engagement across planned investment programmes
• Producing high-quality reports and management information for senior stakeholders
• Monitoring budgets, forecasting expenditure and supporting investment decisions
• Driving continuous improvement and improved programme performance
• Leading and developing a team delivering programme support, sustainability and resident-focused services

About you

We’re looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience managing planned maintenance, capital investment or asset improvement programmes
• Experience developing programmes using asset data, stock condition information and business priorities
• A proven ability to turn strategic objectives into practical, deliverable programmes
• Experience monitoring budgets, forecasting expenditure and supporting investment decisions
• Experience leading, motivating and developing teams
• Experience working with contractors, procurement processes and senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use asset, performance and financial data to inform decisions
• Excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills
• Knowledge of asset management, planned maintenance and long-term investment planning
• Experience within social housing would be highly advantageous
