Job Opportunity: Principal Planner Programmer

Are you an experienced leader with a strong background in construction programming and NEC contracts? We’re looking for a Principal Planner Programmer to join our Contracting Division in Cornwall and drive efficiency, performance, and excellence across our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Oversee: Manage the Programming Team to develop and deliver efficient project programs that meet contract and works information requirements
  • Operational Excellence: Work closely with Division Heads, Operations and Commercial Managers to monitor and report on project performance, ensuring works are delivered on time and within budget
  • Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation, scheduling and planning across the division, providing early warnings of capacity issues
  • Financial Control: Facilitate accurate cost profiling, forecasting and performance reporting to maximise profitability and minimise risk
  • Risk Management: Lead the management of risk registers, ensuring active monitoring and assigning ownership of risks to the relevant stakeholders
  • NEC Compliance: Ensure consistency of programming standards in line with NEC Contract Principles and manage the coordination of Compensation Events and time-related client instructions
  • Drive Efficiency: Recommend and implement process improvements, fostering a culture of collaboration and operational efficiency

What You Will Need:

  • Degree/HNC in a construction-related discipline or significant senior site experience
  • Proven leadership experience in construction programming and project delivery
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, health & safety, procurement processes and risk management
  • Proficiency in construction programming software such as Microsoft Project
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and resolving complex programming issues
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • A CSCS card and eligibility or membership in a construction-related professional body
