Ready to help make Cornwall an even better place to live, work, and explore? We’re recruiting two Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our team as we prepare for the start of the grass-cutting season.

If you take pride in keeping outdoor spaces looking their best and enjoy working outdoors in all seasons, this could be the perfect role for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a vital role in maintaining Cornwall’s green spaces, including:

• Grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub pruning, and weed control
• Supporting the expansion of Wilding wildflower initiative
• Maintaining sports pitches, cemeteries, and closed churchyards
• Clearing and maintaining watercourses and rivers
• Using grounds maintenance machinery safely and effectively
• Completing electronic paperwork accurately and on time
• Responding positively to service requests to keep standards high

What We’re Looking For

• PA1–PA6 Pesticide Application Certificate
• NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture (or equivalent) — desirable, not essential
• Recent experience in grounds maintenance and operating related machinery
• A full, valid UK driving licence (Class B required; C1E desirable)
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to use your initiative
• Experience in landscaping is beneficial but not essential
• And above all — a genuine interest in horticulture and the natural environment
